Avinash Karn with another superb performance taking six wickets in Nepal’s seven wickets victory over Malaysia in their last group match of the ACC U-19 Elite Cup in Malaysia on Wednesday. Nepal proceed to semi-final as a Group-B winner and set a date with UAE on May 10, whereas the other semi-final will be between the host Malaysia and Afghanistan.
Malaysia won the toss and elected to bat first, at the Kinrara Academy Oval, Karn’s magnificient bowling demolished the Malaysian side for just 69 runs with only two batsmen reaching the double- digit score. Dhivendran Mogan’s 22 andAmiruddin Azahar’s 15 were the only notable performance by the Malaysianside managed by former Nepali cricket coach Roy Luke Dias. Bhuwan Karki picked two wickets to his name while Yagyaman Kumal and Sushant Bhari took one each in their name. Nepal reached the target of 70 runs in 24.4 overs losing three wickets. HariShankar Shah made an unbeaten 28 runs with on Amit Shrestha (7) , Nischal Panday (10) and Bibhatsu Thapa (17) also contributing to the teams total.
