ICC Has Provided A Fund Of $175000 To Nepal For Preparation

Nepal has received a fund of $175000 for the ICC world cup qualifiers preparation. ICC announcement for the financial assist to Nepali Cricket Team has made the Cricket Association Of Nepal(CAN) to make a high level of preparation for the world cup qualifier.

According to the 2013 ICC Development Funding Policy, Nepal will receive $175,000. ICC will distribute the amount to its affiliate and associate member nations within rank 9 to 12, while the top eight ranked affiliate and associate member nations will get $ 350,000.

Nepal will play the 2013 ICC World Twenty20 Qualifiers in October 2013 in the UAE where 6 nations will reserve the tickets for 2014 ICC Twenty20 World Cup, that will take place in Bangladesh from 16 March to 6 April.

Similarly, Nepali Cricket Team will play the 2014 ICC ODI World Cup Qualifier in January that will take place in Newzealand where 10 Nations will fight each other for the top two spots where top two team will be the final qualified team for 2015 world cup along with ODI status, and 3rd and 4th team will also get the ODI status.

CAN President Aangbuhang said the high performance grant has given CAN a huge relief. “With this grant, we can at least plan a training program for our national side,” said Aangbuhang. “Meanwhile, we are expecting support from the government and are preparing a detailed program for the World Cup Qualifiers,” he added.

According to Aangbuhang, CAN could use the grant also to send players for foreign training. “We are sending Binod Bhandari and Pradeep Airee to Sri Lanka to play club cricket there. Meanwhile, we are also planning some tours for the national squad to Sri Lanka or Bangladesh. We are also planning to call some foreign teams and experts here,” said Aangbuhang.

Bhandari and Airee will play for Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club in the Sri Lankan U-23 Club Cricket League. Last year, pacer Amrit Bhattarai and Chandra Sawad had played the league.

Captain Paras Khadka, Vice-Captain Gyanendra Malla and the experienced spinner Basant Regmi will go to Canada to play county cricket league, as the trios have received visa for Canada.

CAN is planning to go Srilanka for T20 world cup qualifier preparation and for the ODI World Cup Qualifier preparation, CAN is planning to go for India Tour. And between these, CAN is planning for the high level tour for the World Cup Qualifiers. Nepal’s participation in ACC Emerging Team Cups along with top test nation team of their u23 age group of India, Srilanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh with Afghanistan, UAE and host Singpore will be the big preparation for NCT for these World Cup Qualifiers.

There will be back to back big tournaments, so Nepali Cricket Team really need good preparation to knock in both world cup.
