NSC To Begin Short-term Plans Soon For T20 World Cup In Bangladesh.

The five-member working committee on Friday submitted its report to the National Sports Council on the short-term plans for Nepal’s preparation in the 2014 ICC World Twenty20 in an immediate requirement programme that carries a budget of Rs 38 million.

 

The committee, headed by NSC Sports Development Department Chief Prakash Chandra Ghimire, has divided its report into two halves calling it an Immediate Requirement for the World Twenty20.

 

The report is divided into Physical Infrastrucutre/Hardware and Software. The Hardware part relates to the infrastructural tasks and the Software part in concerned with providing Nepali cricket team with foreign-based exposure and training.

 

“We are mainly focused on working on the existing grounds at the TU Stadium since it is a short-term plan,” Ghimire told reporters. NSC Member Secretary Yubaraj Lama said the task will be completed before the national team returns from their participation in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifiers to be held in New Zealand from January 13 to February 1.

 

“There are budgeting expects as well which will be done with available budget. We have four million rupees of budget remaining and there is budget allocated for cricket as well. Apart from that an addition amount of six million rupees can also be released through the government,” said Lama.

While the committee has submitted its report on the short-term plan, it is also assigned to submit long-term plans within one month. With one week gone, the committee now is left to submit the report in a matter of 21 days.
